This song is filled with apparatus. It’s packed to the gunwales with machinery. It’s stuffed with devices. But with all that industrial detritus strewn about the place – you would think it may be disconnected and confused.. But have no fear. This is as fulfilling and complete as you can imagine. It holds together like a bridge. It connects into intricate knots like well-worn chain-mail. Grant’s main vocal is extraordinary and burning – it seems to paste the main structures of the songs together – like bronze clasps on a belt-fed bandolier.
But it’s those yawning – gaping – guitars at around the 2:50 mark that will really affect you. They are strong, powerful and majestic in both beauty and horror!
